Prague third on pick pocketing list

A popular website for global tourist information, TripAdvisor.com, recently released its top 10 list of cities all around the globe most besieged by pick pocketing.

After Barcelona and Rome, Prague takes the third position. Number four has Madrid and five is for Paris.

Six of Prague’s top 10 most popular attractions fit the description of ideal places for pickpockets, according to the popular tourist website. “The famously beautiful Charles Bridge is lined with 30 Baroque style statues, as well as thousands of tourists who crowd its ancient stones each year, making it a perfect recipe for pick pocketing. Before taking in the view of the Vltava River and the Prague Castle beyond, be sure valuables are strapped down,” TripAdvisor.com states.

Objective list

The report is based on travelers’ comments posted on the forums of TripAdvisor.com; the top 10 destinations are the cities that got the most complaints on the site.

TripAdvisor has 25 million travelers who visit the site every month. It has over 11 million members who actually post content to the site.These members are based all over the world, they travel to different destinations every week of the year, so it is entirely objective, based on the word of real travelers.
